Initiated a decade back by an acclaimed British Asian Urdu poetess, and supported by a handful of passionate music and poetry lovers, the community benefitting initiative of Creative Minds Society (CMS) was originally launched to boost South Asian poets in the British Asian community. While the efforts were worthy, the project needed potential and pace to make an impact. This is when Radio Faza took up the project and propelled the initiative to a completely new level. CMS went out to organise multiple cultural outreach activities per year and made it into a platform for manifold talents. A project of Radio Faza, CMS now organises one major talent show every year – ‘Talent of Midlands’ (a Talent Hunt event) spanning the length and breadth of East Midlands; two to three Musical Nights per year; regular poetry recitation sessions; literary discussion evenings; film and drama critique corners and more from every field of art. Radio Faza’s CMS project aims at highlighting the power of art in man and women, young and old, ace and amateur in an array of artistic forms and expressions because art has no boundaries.
